Stimulating North Texas Police

Some items on the Stimulus Wish List of Mayors of North Texas:

  • - Frisco wants $125,000 for an armored vehicle and $200,000 for a mobile command vehicle. You know, for all that gang tank warfare going on up in Frisco.

  • - McKinney wants $5 million for SWAT toys and stuff.

  • - North Richland Hills wants $51,000 for volunteer patrol volunteers. Let’s throw in $10 for a dictionary so they can look up the word “volunteer.”

  • - Irving wants $5 million for biometric scanners, digital cameras, RFID scanners — nothing Big Brother there.

  • - Grand Prairie wants $1.25 million for nicer landscaping around the public safety building.

  • - And finally, Arlington is really gearing up for urban warfare. Arlington wants $1.6 million for SWAT toys including more equipment for those deadly but camera-friendly no-knock raids, $56,000 for military grade carbines, $625,000 for unmanned aerial surveillance drones, and $130,000 for “covert ops.”

Unreal some of the crap that is being requested.

An armored vehicle for Frisco, TX? Really? *sigh*

Welcome to F***ed up America. At least it is still better than most of the world,(from what I have been told). I am trying to do my farm budget for the year and I can't make the numbers work this year. I think I am going to apply for $100,000 for a UAV to keep tabs of my farm from home. That will make my budget work.

That's my Xmas wishlist for next year. "SWAT toys and armored vehicles." Flippin' sweet.

If your Uncle one day said, "I have buckets of money to give out to all my nieces and nephews, all you have to do is tell me what you want." Wouldn't you submit a list of all sorts of things that you might like? This is essentially the same thing. What's being asked for is less insulting than the fact that the money is being given away in the first place.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta the sewer system is collapsing. Yes, it's completely Atlanta's fault that this is happening, but even the state of Georgia is asking for BS while actual infrastructure projects that would employ a lot of people just sit. This shit is insane!

Auto...good luck with that. With the taxes you would have to pay (SS, unimployment) and the liability insurance you would need, you would be paying them about 20k/year with no benefits (healthcare, etc.).
