Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) has set up a new Web site, Names of the Dead, to memorialize Americans who died because they had no health insurance:
Every year, more than 44,000 Americans die simply because have no health insurance. I have created this project in their memory. I hope that honoring them will help us end this senseless loss of American lives. If you have lost a loved one, please share the story of that loved one with us. Help us ensure that their legacy is a more just America, where every life that can be saved will be saved.
Update: The automated list of names has been removed from the site. It may be that mourning "Hugh G. Reckshinn," age 44, from Dumas, Texas, was a bit too much for them.

What an idiot.

Man I can't believe Lassie had no insurance. That dog was fucking rich! I think they denied him coverage just because he was a dog. Those bastards.

last I checked they won't drop you out on the curb if you have no insurance....they just save you then bill you. shouldn't it be a used as warning to get people to get their own insurance as opposed to some hippie message that we're not doing anything unless we're doing everything for people who don't do anything for themselves.

@ek..that's classic. (But I think "he" was denied because "she" was a bitch).

Grayson is quickly earning the reputation as the Carrot Top of the House of Representatives. We never know what crazy gimmick he's going to pull out of his wacky bag of tricks next.

I heard the perfect solution for Health Care reform the other day. No kidding this makes so much sense I see why we don't do it. Let's forget these shenanigans and 1000 page bills and simply start a program where we give money to those that need insurance. Send them a freaking check. Of course they have to qualify, blah blah blah. Here's the kicker. Dems are happy cause we're giving stuff to the people. Republicans are happy cause the health care industry does not become socialized.

I think we should start a site where we list people who died WITH insurance....I bet our list is longer.

Wow...as a proponent of a healthcare plan for all (although not a proponent of what is currently circulating by any means) even I think this is Ree Todd Didd.
