Shared on Fri, 03/23/2007 - 07:23Counting today...6 and a wake up, and I'll be outa here for a while. It'll be soooo nice to get the hell away from the office for some nice relaxation time with the family. We take the same trip every single year and I always come back refreshed and ready for the busy season. It's almost funny that I'm as young as I am and act like an old grumpy fart. I've never been much on the over-populated, commercialized vacation spots. I like it nice and quiet. A place where I can fall asleep on the beach while fishing and not hear a sound other than the tide coming in. We found that spot about 10 years ago and have been going there ever since. Mexico Beach, Florida.
It's a small town about 45 minutes east of Panama City. Usually when the family and I go down, we're the youngest people to be found. It's mostly older snowbirds and local fishermen. There's been allot of construction over the past few years, and I hear that June/July/August are beginning to get a little wild, but late March /early April is the prime-time as far as I'm concerned. That's about the time the Mackrell start running and the whiting are everywhere. The Reds are around too if you have a boat to can get out into the bay a little ways. We always come home with a huge pile of filets. Everything from flounder to whiting to the occasional grouper. The funny part is that the wife and I don't even eat fish  We just filet them so we can bring it home and give it to friends.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll miss my 360, but not enough to make me want to come back here and go to work. I'd take it with me to do some SP gamerscore-whoring in the evenings, but I'm afraid my wife would murder me if I even mentioned it, let alone started packing it up.
