I'm not a blogger but a recent post in the forums made me think about this.

Recently I was driving my 15 year old daughter and a friend of hers who had just moved up to North Carolina to the movies. On the way she was commenting about how small the town was where she had moved to. I asked jokingly if it was anything like Mayberry and they were like "Where?" I said, "You know, The Andy Griffith Show, Aunt Bea, Opie, Barney Fife?". They are like "Who?". I just said "Never mind"......

I sometimes work with the younger crowd and my jokes like that are always lost. I tend to say shazbot as a default swear word in the workplace and it seems rare that someone picks up on it.

Dude, those shows were even before my time. Only reason i could pick on on the Andy Griffith show is because it was on rerun syndication and i caught a few episodes at lunch from grade school  .
