Heading out first thing tomorrow morning for New Orleans. Never been. The first two days are business and that's why I'm going. But I'm staying through the weekend and that's why I'm so excited.

My wife is joining me. The kids are not. I love my two boys dearly, but my wife and I desperately need a few days away to be ourselves. Once my work is done Thursday afternoon, my wife and I plan to return to our younger days of living with little concern for consequence; it's been way too long since we could stay out late, drink as much as we want, be as naughty as we want, then go back to the room and, well, be as naughty as we want. Man, do we need this!

I'm also looking forward to just experiencing the town. We're staying in a nice place in the French Quarter. If anyone has advice for us, let me know. If you're local, let's hook up...

Used to go to Nawlins a lot back in the day. Haven't been there since Katrina so I don't know what has opened back up. I used to go hang out at the Piano Bar at Pat O' Briens on Bourbon Street. They have the best hurricanes in the Quarter. Also, there used to be this drink sold at a few of the smaller shops called the Hand Grenade. That fucker was loaded with liquor and tasted good to boot. We used to get them at a place called the Tropical Isle. You should be able to get some good eats on Bourbon Street to. My wife and I once ate at a Cajun restaurant that overlooked Bourbon and the food was awesome. Good luck, and have fun. Stay on the main streets and don't pee in public.
