Shared on Mon, 07/23/2007 - 12:44ARRGH!! I was hoping that maybe we got lucky and didn't have one of the P.O.S. Xbox 360's, since we waited over a year to buy one... Thursday I was going to play GH2, everything worked fine until the song began to load, and *zap* it froze. I thought, "okay, this has happened before *kinda* without the little zappy noise, which maybe was my imagination..." so I powered it down, waited about 30 seconds, and turned it back on, then the dreaded red ring of death showed. NOOOOOO!!! "Don't panic" I told myself, "maybe it's the disc...but please don't let my GH2 be dead, please!" I turned it off again, and this time, I opened the tray to turn it on, and got to the Xbox dashboard okay, "maybe it was just tired? Of what? Haven't played since last week, it should be happy to see me...great, it's toast." then I grabbed the GRAW disc, and closed the tray, and *ZAP* frozen. By now, I knew that sitting before me was a $600 metal brick. SWEET. Powered down again, and opened the tray to retrieve GRAW, and the red ring of death appeared once again. *sigh*
Called the Xbox customer service...."...due to the high volume of calls, you may experience longer than normal wait times..." Oh really? I had no idea! After announcing that the 1 year warranty has been extended 3 years, I figured I was one out of a million...*mentally kicks Microsoft* Idiots. So Thursday evening, after going through the automated "help" guy named Max, we were on hold for over 15 minutes. Blah. Guess maybe try again Friday. The house phone DIED before a live person had a chance to answer. OMG this is wonderful. ... ...
Didn't try Saturday went to lunch and saw Transformers instead. Pretty cool movie.
Sunday, some lunch, decided to try again, since there was nothing interesting on TV. It took 5 minutes! YAY! I guess that was some slightly good news until the CSR guy said, 14-16 WEEKS wait time...Are you kidding me? That's like a third of my Xbox Live membership! Just because they are having hardware problems, I won't have my Xbox for 14 to 16 WEEKS!? :( I swear! I haven't even had it for a year! Waited over a year to get one, so hopefully the kinks were worked out, and now I have to wait 14 to 16 WEEKS.....I am so so so disappointed. *cries* Maybe 14 to 16 weeks is worst case scenario...
