TARGET.COM deal on Kinect

 

Target.com (not the stores) has a promo going where you can get Kinect for 119.99 and free shipping.  The deal is 20% off select items over $75 which includes Kinect through 1/22/11.  Then there's free shipping on orders over $50.

Problem is Target.com is out of stock but the promo runs through the 22nd.  I imagine they'll get stock at least on a weekly basis so as long as they're not douchebags and keep it out of stock until the 23rd, you'll have additional opportunities to snag Kinect for $119.99.

As long as you can get an Xbox360 Arcade set for 135€, I'm not paying 120€ for a Kinect sensor. It's totally out of proportion.

Depends on how you look at it Cryptic. The Arcade/Kinect sku is 299.99. That saves you 50 bucks from buying the Kinect and Arcade individually. However if you need to buy the power supply for the Kinect to hook it up to an older xbox, that'll cost you 50 bucks . And the arcade only comes with 4gb of storage, not really enough for anything but game saves so you'd have the added expense of a couple flash drives or the 250gb hdd.

Absolutely Tank. But look at it from a Xboxer since hour 0 point of view. I have my 360 already in place and all I need to do is transport my files should me current 360 die. Though my 360-S is actually the first Xbox I have that has any kind of quality attached to it, so I guess that'll be in function well beyond it's guarantee. For many xboxers like me, your considerations are moot, though they're correct for entry-level Xboxers. I do believe that the kinect, which kinda rides the Nintendo wave and thus using known technology with a twist (no nunchucks or that PS3 wand), is too expensive to buy right now.
