NINTENDO PRESS BRIEFING hawt or FAIL

Ok so thought i'd do something different for the nintendo briefing, here's what they announced and if i thought it was hawt or a fail.  I'm actually pretty shocked at the results.

 

Zelda game for wii motion plus looked pretty good, they showed off a whip, bow, sword.  If you're a zelda fan, this game looked Hawt.


Mario Sports Mix takes Mario and friends into volleyball, hockey, basketball, murderball and other sports .  It looks to me like another mini-game pack though ....  FAIL.

Wii might have gotten their first 'killer app', GOLDENEYE is making a return exclusively on Wii this holiday, now that's Hawt !

Dance game sequel announced but looks stupid to me now after seeing controllerless dancing on 360... FAIL

Disney is making a Mickey Mouse game that's kind of interesting, his powers are 'paint' and 'paint thinner' to add or erase items in the world which effects how in-game characters react to you.  Kinda of interesting.... Hawt

New Kirby game announced, it's a game about textiles and yarn, looks pretty stupid.... FAIL.

Dragon Quest 9 on DS releases in July, will support 3 player wifi coop, Hawt.

Metroid M got some screen time, looks pretty good for a wii title.  Releases aug 31st.... Hawt.

new Donkey Kong Country game announced for holiday 2010,  looks Hawt !

Nintendo 3Ds announced, no stupid glasses required go anywhere 3D gaming.  It has a larger upper screen and a regular sized bottom touch screen, better graphics processing and now an analog stick and a dpad on the left plus the DSi camera except it has two additional cameras on the outside of the shell to take 3D pictures.  It will also automatically communicate with nearby 3DS systems automatically directly system to system no matter what games are being played on each system.... HAWT, HAWT, HAWT !

The Kirby game should be good. It looks like a big brother to the DS Kirby game which is a lot of fun. Due to the limited graphics on the DS you draw a line. I guess for the Wii they are going to make it look like yarn. Not sure what to think about the 3DS. The dpad looks like it is in a horrible location. However, what I do like is what it has inside. I t has a gyro and motion sensor built in. I will have to watch when homebrew catches up with this. I could port my maze game which uses a motion gba kart.

I thought it was all FAIL. Zelda- would be cool but the controls are going ot be a nightmare with the lack of precision even with the motion + Donkey Kong Country looks Hawt, but you know they will screw it up with the controls. 3DS....fail. I remember the Migranes I had for weeks after I tried to use the Virtual Boy....no thanks, they can shove 3d up their asses.

Gaming is really the only place i'm welcoming to 3Ding. Couldn't give a shit about 3D movies and TV, but gaming is where i think 3D can really launch itself in the next generation of consoles. So i'm eager to see what 3DS looks like in person. Hopefully some of the 2o2p crew were at the Nintendo briefing and got to play with it, they had models come out with a bunch of 3DS's tethered to them so everyone could get a taste of what 3DS was all about.
