Quick poll! What does your husband/wife think about you and 2o2p?

They love it, they're a part of the site too?

It's not really their thing, but they think it's cool that you think it's cool?

They think it's dumb and make fun of you?

Something else? Explain....

Also - Don't forget to check out Caesar's blog to send in some questions for the next Community Pulse episode and win some shit.

My wife doesn't care that I'm on the site, facebook is her 2o2p anyway. However, if I meet up with site members at events like PAX she thinks it's kind of odd but doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

She would rather go for a walk, read a book or go to a fancy Restaurant, (the kind with a guy playing the piano or Violin). I've tried to get her into gaming, even got her "Frogger" and "Tetris", but its just not interesting to her. She does make "Geek" jokes but she also knows it's better then Bars or staying out in the garage all the time. I only get shit if I play to long and don't give her some attention. Hell, she's the one who got me the 360, PS3, 52", Surround Sound and most of my games. My Sweetykins is awesome x10, life is good ;)

She has a bigger problem with me watching too much Football than playing games or being a member of this site. Anyway, I keep my personal and professional life in order. I think that she has a healthy respect for this site and what it represents.

My wife isn't a gamer at all, but she completely respects the social circle that 2o2p has become in my life. She's in full support of it and pushes me to make sure I've got time to maintain the relationships I've made through it.

My girlfriend, Tracy, doesn't mind. She's about the most low-maintenance woman I've ever met in my life, though, so not much really riles her up. She did mention it to a coworker once: "What, he just plays video games?" "Yeah." "Isn't that a little weird?" "Hey, he's not at the bar or anything." She plays video games too, but I don't think she likes the games I like. I'm really not sure what games she does like, to be honest. She and I had a while where we played Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 a lot, but that fizzled. All I know is that I could 4-shot her in the face. Oh yeah, we only have one TV. She doesn't realize how bad it's going to be when Reach comes out.

She says "Dont you feel weird talking shit to all those little kids? I teach those kids at school and wondered were they heard such hideous things, now I know where...you!" then she said "But what did johnny mean when he said he would Nuke me?"

Her: Why do you enjoy playing with strangers you've never met rather than playing with your wife and daughters up in the play room? Me: (into mic) They just set up a turret gun beside the gas station!! Her: Whatever. Me: Love you honey!

He laughs at me, but yet he spends as much time on his SSF4 forum, so whatever!! He isn't on the site, and has no intention of joining. He is glad I have a pool of peeps to play Reach with, though, and he's convinced that I'll bump someone from the "normal" crew to give him a spot when Reach comes out........we shall see....I haven't quite decided, yet. He may have to work for it.

My wife doesn't get the whole gaming thing as it is. I beleive she thinks the my participation with an online community is dumb, but keeps it to herself since she knows it is something I do and enjoy. There is a lot of other things that i could be doing that are worse. As long as my gaming doesn't impact the family in a negative way, like not spending time with her or the baby, she puts up with it.

She's not a gamer nor is she computer literate. She thinks that adult gamers are just weird (myself included) and even weirder there is a website dedicated to older gamers. Don't even get her started on going to a LAN. ("You're doing what? Hanging out with your geek friends and playing video games all weekend?")

My wife made fun of it, then she came with me to the OMM LAN in Indy, now that she has some faces to match up with gamertags, she thinks it is cool, well not cool, but better.

Interesting responses so far. Keep em coming! Dean is gamer (single player/co-op only). But he really looks down on the whole 2o2p/community stuff. I don't even talk about it with him because he'll just roll his eyes.

Claudes answer is the same as mine. It is funny when I reference people by their real name, she looks a me with a "who is that look", then I say, oh that is BC or that is Drost. Then she remembers.

My wife thinks it cool, but it's not her cup of tea. My wife likes some of the weird shit I show her that you guys find (me included). She also belongs to forums (teacher stuff) that's not for me. We share discussions and ideas over dinner. Our forums are much funnier, hands down!!!!!!!

When I first told my wife I joined this website and explained the concept of joining a clan, she said it sounded like I’d just signed up for a gay dating service. She thought the only thing missing was a place for the fellas to “meet” in person. When I told her about lans, she laughed her ass off, then reminded me that she would not be very understanding if I came out of the closet after more than 20 years of shared heterosexuality and 3 kids. I have since eased her concerns, I think. My non-gaming wife has mixed feelings. She enjoys reading (and editing) the crap I write. And she's happy that I find happiness in the fun the site generates. Yet she's rarely pleased on a Sunday morning when it's extremely clear that 4 hours of sleep was not enuf to eradicate the effects of the prior night's game induced adrenalin coupled with alcohol consumption. She usually blames "that damn xbox" (after she accurately pegs me as a dumbass), but I think 2o2p is guilty by association.

He must be a supportive guy to come to the LAN every year if he doesn't really dig the whole 2o2p vibe. My wife is happy that I have like minded adults to scream at so I'm not screaming at 12 year old boys in Halo lobbies. She finds some comfort in that. Questions for the Podcast: Batmank: What's your favorite Batman Story arc and why? Batmank: Who is your fav all time comic artist and why? LB: Why do suck so much in Fantasy Football? Danke.

Mid - I just re-read what I wrote and it probably reads worse than what it is. Either way, he does not accompany me to the LAN out of support. lol.

Sue claims that since I think it's cool, she thinks it's cool. However, she takes real issue that certain site founders chose the GT "doodirock" without ever stopping to consider that he would be called "doodi in perpetuity. She also has no love for "Freyn Ap Thyr," but she likes apple-butter and getting me out of the house for a weekend in August.

He isn't a gamer. But...he supports my habit. He is the one who often buys me the latest game for a present...like when I am...ahem, a good girl. He also likes to watch me game. I think my kickassiness (I invented that) makes him hard. 2old2play? He is alright with it. Glad that someone my age found a place where I can just be me without Timmies repeatitively asking "No, really, how old are you FOR REAL" (They never believe me!!! A-holes) He never reads anything here though....which might be good....he thinks you're all innocents. Hahahahahahaha....funny shit, that. WHA??? What kind of questions will win me shit? I am so excited at the possibility, I think I freaked out a little and clapped my hands excitedly.
