The Fitbit is just a basic accelerometer. It's a glorified and re-packaged Wii remote. So I imagine sex is simply interpreted as the same energy expenditure as running...or sleeping? Possibly something in between. That's assuming you're wearing the Fitbit.

On the UI, you're given the option to add activities engaged in while not wearing the device, including time...down to the second. You also have to answer how hard it was, so that the appropriate caloric multiplier is applied.

So go for it. Log your 30 seconds.

Also noteworthy - I cannot wait for this weekend. Besides needing serious rest, my good friend is coming out of a relationship and has started an online dating profile. He's getting a bunch of hits but hasn't put up a picture. He is being completely bitch-assed about it. Guys have been asking for pictures but he's worried they won't like him because "gay men are really shallow about appearance" - his words, not mine.

I'm trying to convince him that it would be better to put the picture up right from the get-go so potential dates can self-select and not contact him if they no likey. Seems like a lot less anxiety for everyone involved. It's not fun being a rejector either. But I was promptly told that my advice is like jerking off with sandpaper. I feel like there's a compliment in that metaphor...somewhere. But I'm not totally sure.

Well, he's finally come around. Not only do I get to take pictures for him to post, he's given Dean his account info (password included) to help him with his profile. It's going to be fun - right up to the point he bitches when we're trying to hit the submit button.

Also on tap for the weekend - MNC. Played the tutorial and it was surprisingly deep for an arcade games. Will be playing more later.
