New Year's Resolutions...

Ohhhhh Deeeaaarrr - (Like one of my favorite XBL friends would say). It's time to think about what my New Year's resolution will be. Here were the contenders in completely random order with no promises of originality.

 - Lose weight. Specifically 10 pounds before I start interviewing for my next gig. I'm nixing this because it's dumb. I should just do this anyway regardless of the New Year.

 - Get a new job. I've cut this one from the list because I sort of have to do it regardless. It would be a gimme.

 - Resolve to not resolve. Still an option. But the exercise of thinking about change and bettering yourself is still a worthwhile one.

 - Exercise more. How much more? I don't know. Nixing this for the same reason as 'lose weight'.

 - Take the bus more instead of driving and paying for parking. I've cut this because it might only apply for a few more months anyway.

- Save money. Lame. I should just do this anyway.

And the one resolution that has, so far, not been cut is: Complete a Project 365. A "Project 365" is where you take a photograph every single day of something. Some days are bound to be complete garbage. Other days, some good photos might be born. I might go with it...It will a challenge for sure, but fun (I think). We'll see. I might change my mind and say 'fuck it' to the whole resolution thing all together.

What about you? Are you making a resolution? Or saying screw it this year?

Project 365 sounds cool...I might ninja the idea. My resolution is to stop being such a douche. If I make it more than a week I'll be surprised... Oh and to eat less meat. That will be easy after seeing the movie "Food" last night. :-/

I really like your reasoning. You kind of shot my resolutions down.OHHH DEEEEEARRR. One I'm keeping is to not facebook stalk so much and complain that your friends needs more consonants in their names

Resolutions are kind of a cliche of sorts but I do need to loose some weight. Its recommended that people change habits on important days so I guess new years is as good a day as any to start a diet. I like the "Project 365" idea and I like the "Screw It" idea as well so maybe I will combine the two ;)

try 50 book challenge... 1 year 50 books = about one per week. I tried when Erica was born... read great stuff and failed.

And do them all Jmarps? Crazy. But Nae - that's why I picked one that will actually be fun! I think. And if people don't push themselves to grow a little bit, life gets stagnant. It's like not going prestige in CoD. It's gets boring!

The project365 idea sounds cool. I may do that with my kids. I haven't been very good about taking pictures of them. Penelope Trunk has a great post on resolutions and how to set them up so you can follow through. http://blog.penelopetrunk.com/2009/12/29/how-to-keep-a-new-years-resolut...
