Pre-ordered my slim...

Seems like topic of the day is the 360 Slim. At first the slim was not even on my radar. But this weekend Dean decided he HAD to have one. I think he likes buying 360s as much as he likes playing them! We went to 2 Gamestops, 2 Best Buys, and checked inventory online at every major retailer in our area. Nothing. Then we remembered that Toys R' Us sells video games and that they're a shithole store people forget about. They had two in stock so we picked one up.

Once it became clear that we would no longer be able to swap our profiles between our two boxes, I decided to get one...We traded in Dean's elite, our 2 DS Lite's, all our DS games (we haven't played the things in over a year), and a bunch of 360 accessories. With all the bonus trade offers and the Edge card, we amassed close to $500 in credit. That will go a long way to help cover 2 Kinects and our 2 new slims. Woot! And we'll still have my 360 pro as a spare. 

I'm not crazy about the new gloss look of the slim. It will look like shit in two days after it attracts dust...But, I'll live. I really hope these things are more dependable! And I'm sure MS does too since the RRoD failings have cost them 1 billion from their bottom line.

I also picked up God of War III this weekend. I've really had my head in the sand on this series. I didn't realize how "button-mashy-hack-n-slash" it is...Not sure that's my style. I'll give it a little bit more time before I try to get rid of it. But, Dean and I stopped over at Cool Cuz's apartment this weekend where I got to take a look at his replica Blade of Chaos. LOL!  I also posed with this two Thor hammers...But I'll spare you those pictures.
