I'm so flippin excited for Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise to release next week. I remember back when the 360 was released and I heard about the original I just knew it was game that I had to have and I would love.

The original Viva Pinata was released on the same day that Gears of War was released and I'm not going to lie - GoW sat in it's wrapper for a solid month (first achievement 12/9).

It still makes me sad that MS markets this game as an exclusive "kid's game". It deeper than stupid Ratatouille or Cars....I think a lot of the gameplay elements are similar to something like Civ Rev even...But that's just me.

So come next week...I'll be mating pinatas. Pengums and Kittyfloss FTW! I can't wait.

Viva is one of the few games on my list that i just couldn't bring myself to finish. I abandoned it somewhere in the 200 gamerscore range. Not my cup of tea.

I put maybe 7-8 hours into the first one, and I always got the feeling that my garden was in total chaos. Is there any way to order things better? Or is the entire game like that?

@ Midnighter - At a high level - you are managing a garden. At first there is nothing there. The goal is to attract various pinata species, mate them, adorn them with accessories that increase their value and sell them if you choose (or trade/give them to friends). The problem is that in order to attract them they have all these requirements. A croc won't show up unless you have water. A fox won't show up unless you have chickens. But then the fox eats your chickens. And then those asshole ruffians are bad guys that come and fuck your shit up. And then some pinatas fight and kill each other. And then they might get sad if you don't have the right kind of tree or something so they get sick and die. Plus you're growing plants and making sure you water shit and fertilize it. And you can hire helpers. So at first the game is kind of slow. But as you build up your garden it's like one crisis after another and you're trying to keep this pinata utopia. It's probably not for everyone - but I love it. It's a god game...Very SimCity-ish.

The who set up will be different. Just like you can manage your fling creatures better so you don't have to tap on anything. They will land this time when you want to.

Oh TDrag your going to love the spoilers that I posted on my blog if you really loved the dragon in the first one Then you will love the spoiler and it is not the Jelli which is in the game either. I just don't go in depth on how you create it many different ways.
