Shared on Sat, 08/25/2007 - 08:19According to the Bible, the tongue can do more damage than one would think. It's early; I'm lazy . . .you can look it up.
If you were to take a large bag of feathers, ascend to the top of the highest building you could find on a windy day, and dump the feathers over the edge, this would illustrate the effects of a loose tongue (or loose fingers on the internet). Your next task would be to recover every last feather that you released. If you were to say that is impossible, you would be absolutely correct.
The feathers of gossip have the same attributes. If you gossip, start false rumors, or true ones for that matter, you can never fully mend the hurt and damage done. Regardless of any apology you make, how many prayers you send up, once the words leave your mouth (or fingers), the damage is done. Many a career has been ruined. Many a friendship has been destroyed. You can be forgiven, but those feathers are still floating around out there somewhere.
Please keep your feathers to yourself. Besides, naked chickens are unsightly creatures.
No particular reason for this blog. You know my mind. I live in my own little world, but that's ok because they all know me here.
