But, I have been a big fan of animation since I was watching Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear as a kid. I suppose some of that interest transfers to my attraction to video games, especially the next-gen versions.
I had heard mixed reviews of this flick, but it's raining, so what the heck. I don't want to give it totally away, but I thought the animation was incredible. It was a tale about a rat that desires more out of life than digging in the trash, and finds he has a talent in the culinary arts. When forced from his home, a series of events lands him in Paris, where he befriends the son of a world reknown chef.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but I don't know if I would take very young children, as I can see how it might be scary in a couple of situations. This was a feel-good story with a solid plot, great animation, with drama and humor skillfully entertwined. It isn't for everyone, but as for me, I thought it was a very good film. Understand, I have seen Happy Feet, Toy Story, Bugs . . .Obviously, I go to movies to escape reality, not to watch enhanced views of "reality". If you lean in that direction, it's a
go.- TexasTwister55's blog
