It was formerly the "bird room", which meant that with two parrots and a macaw, that's about all it was good for. Birds are cool, but they are dirty. I got the new TV, the new area rug, the entertainment center, and yesterday I spent some time emptying a desk that was in there collecting dust. I found some new tools I had gotten for Christmas and had forgotten about. The next step is to move the PC and all the components. I know how to do it, but with the wireless set-up, modem, printer, etc. . . I had just gotten all the wiring arranged with straps so it didn't look like a jungle under there. I'm gonna wait a few days to tackle that one. Besides, I'm here by myself, and it's a two person job for me. Not physically, but memory-wise. It's not an age related issue, as I've always been easily distracted. My mind is always "busy". I have trouble getting to sleep at night because I can't shut down the engines.
Like I said, ramblings. . .There is a hide-a-bed sofa in there that needs a slipcover because it really clashes with the color scheme of the room. I'm not anal, but it is UGLY! I'd move it, but there's nowhere to go. Besides that those things weigh a ton. They should be illegal. I'm pretty sure I've found the office/gaming chair I want at Best Buy. My recliner is sturdy, but alas, it too is showing it's age. Besides, it takes up too much room.
The rains are coming again today, so no painting again. That's really starting to back up. On a brighter note, I sold a light fixture yesterday for $125 that I bought at a church garage sale for $17.50. Didn't really want to sell it, so when they called, I gave them a price I thought she would decline, and she bought it. I have at least one more hanging in a warehouse, so that's another thing I need to do.
Again, on a totally unrelated note, a decorator friend of mine took some of the tail feathers from my blue and gold macaw and made a floral arrangement with them integrated into it. It is absolutely beautiful; something you don't see every day. Every time I go to McKinney I take all the feathers the "tres amigos" have dropped and give them to her. This is what she did in return. She is one of the most giving people I know.
That's all for now. Gotta go start on the ark.
