Home Sweet Home

After seven days away I am finally back home. My daughter and I got home a little after 8pm last night. It was a great vacation, being away from work and all the drama of work & family. I am glad to be back though!

Imagine having the energy of three kids all balled up into one child. That’s what it’s like with our daughter. She normally requires nine to ten hours of sleep each night or she is unbearable the next day. While on vacation I let her stay up till midnight sometimes and we still got up early the next day. The first night was the worst; we stayed at my sisters because she lived by the airport. Jesse (our daughter) wanted to stay up so she could see her aunt that she hadn’t seen in months. I said ok, but you have to go to bed right after. My sister didn’t get home till almost 1:00am because she works at a casino. So my daughter didn’t get to sleep until after 2:00 am and we had to catch a 10am flight (which we missed).

We missed the flight because of a few reasons…when I booked the flight the guy on the phone said the flight left at 10:30am, which wouldn’t have been a big deal since I was there at 9:00am. But when we got to the airport there was construction everywhere, roads blocked off signs covered up. You couldn’t tell which way was up! lol I parked my car, walked 15 minutes over to the shuttle station, had my sister take us up to the front to check in. Couldn’t!!! Road was blocked off and closed. We ended up driving around the whole airport again (in a little 2 seat truck), until we finally found an entrance to the short term parking. We run inside and try to check in…The very rude bitch behind the counter was too busy messing with some shit to help me out. She finally gets to me after I had been standing there for a good 15 minutes, and tells me I am too late to check a bag. I just missed it by 10 minutes because the dumb bitch wouldn’t help me. I was sooooo fucking mad. I had to change my flight to a later one and was told I couldn’t get my first class seats that I had (which were no big deal to me). I was just upset that I couldn’t check my bag and it was her fault! She wouldn’t get me a supervisor, and I hadn’t even “lost” it yet. Needless to say when I went back for my later flight I made sure I spoke with the supervisor and let her know just how rude the woman had been.

We get to Florida and we take a cab to our hotel and check in. They ask Jesse what theme she would like in her room and she said Neutron. They give us our room and our wrist bands that we have to wear and send us on our way. When we get to the room it is completely trashed, the beds in the kids’ room have had the mattresses pulled off of them and the couch bed in the living room is in the same condition. So we trek back down and across the way to the front desk and tell them the situation. They give us a new room, Fairly Odd Parents, and apologize about the mistake. The hotel was a blast, the slides and the pool and arcade. We had a blast, just DON”T EAT THE FOOD! lol It was edible, it was just nasty. She had a great time though; the hard part for me was keeping up wit her. Sea world wasn’t too bad because we were in a tour group and she played nice with a little three year old girl. She spent most of the time riding in a stroller with her keeping her happy. Universal is another story, no stroller, just me and her. After a few hours she was getting cranky and tired and wanted me to carry her everywhere. I wouldn’t let her ride on my back for a little while but there’s only so long a person can walk around with an extra 55lbs on their back. She did great most of the time, even though she only had about seven hours of sleep each night.

It’s good to be home! Now I need a weeks vacation to recover from my vacation lol.
