Shared on Fri, 02/13/2009 - 09:16So Viacom's CFO Tom Dooley said in their recent earnings call that Rock Band 2 has sold 2 million units world wide. Which was below expectations, but still pretty good sales figures if you ask me. But that wasn't the real news.
Last year's #1 selling game world-wide was Wii Play, followed by a few other Wii games. Rock Band 2 didn't even make the top 10. However, according to Dooley, Rock Band 2 was the highest revenue generating game world wide across every genre for 2008. Which means they have sold enough DLC to over take $264 million in sales of Wii Play. That is an insane amount of DLC if you ask me.
But then I remember that I have spent probably $100 on DLC myself...
