Shared on Sat, 07/23/2011 - 12:13Every summer I run out of games to play. The drought kills my wallet. I end up buying tons of older games, and then never play them that much. I bought Civ Rev the other day after playing Civ World on Facebook. It's fun, but only a small diversion. I bought a 3DS, mostly for Ocarina of Time, but I don't play it as much as I should. I like it for business travel mostly, and so I feel like I should save my games to play when I can't play my Xbox. I play Reach every once in a while, but still it's a small diversion. Brink was fun for a while, but the DLC has been in MS certification for a freaking month now, and even when the two new levels come out, it'll only keep me occupied for a week or so. There was supposed to be Portal DLC. Where is my Portal DLC?!?!?!?
And so the old fallback starts calling.........I want to play WoW again. But ........I'm a level 70 and just in the beginnings of Wotlk, and my computer can't handle it. So I would have to buy an entirely new computer. I'm not a PC gamer. I can't stand the upgrades, the specs, the driver installs....it just feels like a hassle to me. I'm sure I could do all the research, learn what is the latest and greatest, newegg it up, and end up with an awesome system, but that is so much freaking work just for WoW.....and some SW:TOR eventually. And I really don't want to spend upwards of $1000 for a 3-4 year future-proof PC for two games. Actually, I don't even know how much it would cost for a computer that could run WoW and SW:TOR at full settings. And how long would that computer last? I can't stand all that PC crap. I love my Xbox.
Even if I did do that and went back to WoW, I know I'd have to drop it in November when way too many games come out at once. I'm going to have to split my time between Halo:CE, AC:Rev, and Skyrim. That is a ton of gaming coming out within a week of each other. Why can't one of those games come out...like now....
I'm just bored out of my mind right now. It's too hot to do anything outside, and I have no games to play. Stupid summer drought.
