Shared on Sun, 12/05/2010 - 19:37Reach died for me very quickly. It just doesn't have maps on par with Valhalla or Standoff or Guardian. Or something. I don't know. The campaign was awesome, but the multiplayer got boring pretty quickly. I bought the new maps, but I haven't even popped the Reach disc in to try them out. Maybe I'll feel a sudden urge to play Halo again at some point, but right now I have no desire at all to play it.
I beat the crap out of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Finished all the single player achievements, and did almost all the missions except for a couple side missions that still go back and knock out every once in a while. I loved the game. LOVED it. I hope they release some single player DLC soon. The multiplayer is really fun too and I've been playing that a bit.
But other than Brotherhood, there just isn't much out there that interests me until Portal 2, I think. So I've been trying to find something to play.
Option 1: Borderlands - I bought this when it came out and reached level 19 or so, but then I sold it. I can't remember why exactly. I liked the game enough. It was kind of annoying trying to find a group with similar levels to play with, but other than that, I remember the game was pretty fun. I'm thinking about picking this up again. Still on the fence.
Option 2: Oblivion - A very old game now, but I still have a lot of guild quests and the entire Shivering Isles to work though. I think the game may be a little too old now though. I want the new one. Can't wait for the new one.
Option 3: WoW - Yeah, I really kind of want to go back to WoW. I have a level 70 hunter. But there are a lot of things holding me back. First I would need a new computer. My laptop chugged in Burning Crusade and was near unplayable in WotLK. And I'd want a laptop again, probably an Alienware. I spec'ed a decent one out for only $700 today, but I only need the damn thing to play WoW...I don't play any other PC games, and I just can't justify that. And then it would take me a lot of time and dungeons with a lot of randoms, most likely, to level up to 80 (and then to 85) to join up with anybody and raid. And I'd have to learn to raid. And with cataclysm everything has been completely re-vamped and I'd have to completely re-learn how to play my hunter. I just don't think I want to invest that much time (and tons of money) to get caught up to enjoy stuff.
Something needs to fill the gap here. My tastes in games seem to be changing. Right now it seems to be in the action/adventure/sandbox/quest type game, like ACB. I don't really know if I feel like playing a FPS right now. I'm thinking I may have to give Borderlands another chance. I know it is an FPS, but it had enough questing and RPG elements that I think it might work to keep me interested. And then hopefully there will be more ACB single player DLC eventually, and I can play the multiplayer in that every once in a while too.
I wish Fable or Fallout appealed to me, but I never could get into them. Maybe I should think about giving Fable III a chance.....I just didn't particularly enjoy Fable II and sold it pretty quickly.
Is anybody else feeling game-stuck? Or is it just me?
