At this years Comic-Con, that statement has never been so true as it is with Bungie’s new Halo game, Halo: Reach. After watching the latest video from Bungie about the feature Forge World (building your own maps), it’s clear the developers paid attention to detail and wanted to make the last game a memorable one.
Forge takes the player beyond the regular spoon feed maps and allow the user to create and utilize their talents to make challenging or just-for-fun maps. Even though this was a feature used in Halo 3, the developers at Bungie took their learning experiences and produced a more fluid and functional map making utility.
One of the key features, according to the video, is the ability to put objects into other objects, like a bridge into the side of a mountain, for example. Building the maps will be more smoother as opposed to the past game as well. Placing a block or wall, for instance, the artist can move the object around and even zoom in on where you need to place or connect the object to other parts of the map.
The makers at Bungie gave the user all sorts of opportunities to design maps for serious game play, or just go crazy and design a variety of different playing enviroments. Check out the video below for more.
