As mentioned before, I tried the Crackdown 2 demo and not that I didn’t like it, it’s just not a game that I would pay sixty dollars for; Transformers: War For Cybertron, however, I would. First of all, let me say this; this game was off the radar screen until my daughter saw it on the demo list. I initially downloaded the game for her, but ended out playing it myself and maxing out the character to level 3 (that’s as high as you can go in the demo version) in a matter of minutes. It’s that addicting! My daughter finally got to play it and said, “Daddy, I like this better than Halo!” So, I apologize to the Halo fan boys out there, but Optimus Prime was here before Master Chief.
The demo had plenty of action, but unfortunately only one map to spread the carnage. The button adjustment took a few minutes to get a good strategy going, mainly because I’m so used to the Call of Duty layout. The coolest thing about this game, in multiplayer, is you can transform on the fly. Just hit the left thumb stick and your in robot mode, or hit it again and your in vehicle mode. Yeah, that’s badass! I started off pretty poorly, but after some time, I went 12-4. You can shoot, melee, use your vehicle canon, and even do a swirl melee, but can only use that once until it recharges. Also, one can throw grenades and EMP charges, which is used like flash bangs in the COD games. The game was very entertaining. Very much so I spent 2 hours playing it and forgetting to start supper for the kids. My two-year old snapped me out of my trance when he came around the corner with a container of Stax (they are like Pringles chips) and eating them.
I haven’t tried the demo today to see if it still works, but no matter, I plan on getting the game today. However, if it is still available, download it and give it a shot. Hopefully, you won’t be disappointed.
UPDATE: Sorry, I forgot to mention this, but Transformers is a third person shooter. I don't know if it matters, but it's still a cool game. Ok, carry on.
