After a visit to my doctor roughly six or seven months ago, when he told me I was borderline diabetic, I have re-vamped my lifestyle a bit and put that as the main focus for now. Over that time, I have started a new diet, which is quite tolerable, as it eliminates a majority of processed carbs (as my tri-glycerides were through the roof at 853, FYI - Normal is 150). I also started going to the gym four to five days a week. My doctor also put me on Fenoglide to help lower my triglycerides. So the good news is: I have lost 25 lbs., Down from 215 to 190, as well as building good lean muscle and being truely in the best shape of my life. My triglycerides are down to 153, which is a heck of a lot better, and my dry skin patches have cleared up in this process as well that I have had for 13-14 years. I feel so much better and I've now started phasing gaming back in, sans the chips and beer (which I miss sometimes, but I have an alcohol night every 1 1/2 or 2 months that I allow myself some beer etc....)
Now that I started working some games back into my schedule at night, Iam really liking Far Cry 3 and can't stop playing it. I would pick it as my Game of the Year for sure. I still have a backlog of games to play, which include the last 2/3 of Borderlands 2, Hitman Absolution, Black Ops II, Lego Lord of the Rings, The last 2/3 of Dishonored, X-Com: Enemy Unknown, and finally Need for Speed Most Wanted. And I still have another 7 games pre-ordered in January, February and March. I'm not sure I will be getting to them too soon. Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

I picked up a stationary bike that is just the pedals, you use it in a chair. I have the resistance at about half way and I can pedal it slowly while I Play games passively on the couch. Good way to burn calories and move that blood sugar into your muscles while you're sitting on the couch. ALso works great watching TV. This is what i bought, it's 150 bucks but it's a real piece of exercise equipment very smooth and absolutly quiet. http://amzn.com/B000V53KD8 . Something that looks similar but much cheaper is this http://amzn.com/B0016BQFV0 . Something to think about if you're looking at ways to combine exercise and gaming without using a Kinect. I've also heard of people using treadmills and setting up a treadmill video game station but I wanted something that fit into my environment as is and decent treadmills are pretty expensive anyway.
As for back catalog, I've got quite a stack myself. And i've got in my mind that i need to play them all by fall becaue the new console will be coming out. So i really need to be choosy about what new games i pick up an realistically how many back catalog games i'm going to get to finish. Among them are Skyrim and Dragon Age Origins, both 100+ hour games. I just started Witcher 2, it'll fill the gap until Aliens comes out in Feb.
