About a month or so ago I bought a new 55" Samsung LED 8000 Model TV. The picture is incredible by the way!!!!! Well this past weekend I was out at Best Buy with my kids, and I finally bit and purchased a pair of 3D, Rechargable Specs so I could check out some 3D gaming and movies at home. It was simple as they automatically pared with my TV. The book claims 2 hour charge last about 30 hours. Well the 2 hour charging is true, but I still need some time to see if they last the 30 hours claimed in the book. First, I checked out some 3D movie trailers passing them around so everybody got to check them out. Then I check out some TV programing 2D to 3D conversion. Turned on the hockey game, which was Pretty Cool!!!!!

Next, time to set up 3D gaming. This took only minutes. First, on the 360, Crysis 2, even a bigger win in 3D. I have really enjoyed the game, but the 3D was pretty damn cool. I can see me replaying this whole game in 3D!!!!! My 10 year old son was floored by the 3D in game. Then on to Black Ops. I played a little Combat Training. The depth of field was pretty good (not as good as Crysis 2 though). I did have a hard time picking out distant targets in game because of the effect though. Probably would not advise MP online in 3D for this reason. Then I jumped to Killzone 3, on the PS3, which was good as well and I would probably list it as the second best out of the 3 games I tried. I really want to try the new MLB 11: Road to the Show, as they have changed the controls and made it in 3D as well. I think they have a demo of it so I'll have to check it out.

IMPORTANT NOTE: 3D Glasses are an expensive endeavor so check them out in store if your unsure. I bought one pair at Best Buy Open Box for $175.99. I liked them so much I ordered pairs from a wholesaler for my wife and son and the children's version for my daughter, so we can enjoy some 3D movies, etc....... This ended up costing me $364.00 plus the $175.99 I had already spent. Hope we end up getting lots of use out them.

If you have any particular questions regarding 3D TV viewing or 3D gaming ask them and I look into it if I don't know already.

Why oh why did I look up blogs that I may have missed over the past week or so that I've been busy? I really want to get a 3D set. I have my eyes on the new Samsung 64" plasma. However, I've been properly frightened by the taxman, so I figured I would hold off until at least the fourth quarter. Last thing I need to see is positive reviews of 3D tv, especially when it includes gaming! Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying it. A couple questions - comfort wise, how are you finding it? Can you play a 3D game for 2 hours straight and not feel like a railroad spike was shot through your brain? I know this will vary from user to user, but it's a general concern of mine. If you are experiencing eye strain at all, do games or movies seem to strain more than the other? What sort of 3D entertainment do you have at your disposal as far as cable? I think I've only got ESPN 3D available through AT&T Uverse, and that costs an extra $10.

Grab SuperStardust Hd on the psn store. It's maybe $10 or so. It's the best 3d game I've played. I tried Blops but like you said the distant targets get lost. I need to fire up Crysis now. There is a 3d S.I swimsuit video on the psn store somewhere, I haven't tried it yet either. I've been slacking on my 3d viewing since the wife controls the 3d tv.
