So I got a new laptop and downloaded the free trial of WoW.  I was excited but after the first day it was rubbing me the wrong way, like it did before.  I am assured that once I reach level 10 it becomes more fun.  I'm a 5 right now.  We shall see.

and #8 to all of you

Lol, it really doesn't get fun until 20. Or was that 30? There's always that next level or item in WoW, and its always supposed to be better then. I was the game started at 80. I got my Huntard to 80 and then had to start grinding for emblems so I could gear myself to raid. That got a bit old, so I rolled a warlock. It's been fun leveling him. It is what you make of it. #8

WoW is fun in the very beginning. My funnest moments were all in the first few months of playing...course that was about 5 or 6 years ago I guess. However, the point of WoW as it is now constructed is that they don't ever want it to be fun as a game. The "fun carrot" is always over the next horizon, because as we all know, you can't have fun unless you get that next new weapon or that next "critical" armor piece. The run to 80 where for all intents and purposes the game actually starts is most definitely not fun, and is the antithesis of fun. That said, the fun in the game is in the "hanging out" with friends. That part was always and still would be fun and can actually be a blast. If you play for that, you can have a good time. If you play it for the game itself, there is very little fun in it at all. Just my opinion. P.S. If you are serious about playing it, PM me and you can play one of my accounts with high level toons and see if it interests you. They are inactive right now, but if you want to pay for the one month to activate one of them, I will let you do that and you can have a taste of that part of the game at least. Will cost you the 15 bucks for the month, but will save you the month(s) of subscriptions to get there and then realize you hate it and wasted the money.

I am a former WoW addict. Please do yourself a favor and stop now. I read an article on gaming addiction that described the various ways game manufacturers get you addicted to games. WoW was used as an example (among several games) in each situation. You can always stop, they just design it so you don't want to.
