Blog Thoughts and Question

I read a lot of blogs here at 2o2p. I rarely post a comment, but I do read just about every single one. Also, I really don't post many blogs either, and I really don't know if my blogs past the test for a worth while blog. I say this because lately I have been reading a few blogs that express how stupid other members blogs are. Complaints about too much daily posting, too many videos, too many pics, and less than stellar content in general. I am asking, what are we suppose to blog about, so I can make sure I am not one of these people. Maybe I am already. I have posted pics of my kids, I am sure that is really only considered worthwhile to me.

I thought a blog was sort of like a diary that others cold read. Where you could pretty much put in whatever you wanted. Some may like what you have to say, and some may not. I am not being a smart ass, or trying to challenge anyone, I really am just wondering what a blog should be. Forgive me if there is already a post somewhere addressing that question, if there is I must have missed it. Either way, I am still lacking that information.

Thanks

I blog about what's happening to me, as you do. The things that are important to you are the things that you are most likely to blog about. And if you get put down in someone else's blog because they don't care for your thoughts or if your blog gets a thumbs down, eff them in the A. It's a place for you to post for you, vent, get some perspective on what's happening. So long as you're happy with your blog's content, that's the important thing.

Blogs are the definition of online free speech. Unless they're malicious or harmful to the community, they shouldn't be censored or edited. That said, there seem to be a few bloggers that post every picture, video or joke they have - several times a day. It gets annoying to see these members saturating the blog page, pushing out others who might actually have something to say.

Personally, I think a blog should be whatever you want it to be. As to what blogs I read, I do read yours, because it isn't just a picture or a video. I like hearing people's thoughts, and getting a glimpse into their lives. I do not read blogs that consistently consist of just a picture or a video. I don't think those blogs are any less 'worthy' or anything, they just aren't my preference. When I blog, I write what I want to write. Yes, it does feel nice to see bookmarks and comments...but ultimately the blog is for me. If someone doesn't like what I blog, they should be able to tell that after a few viewings and they don't have to click on my icon. So, blog what YOU want to blog about.

Its realy not an issue, just go to the word blog on the side and it lists the last 25 blogs...that usually shows the main blog site of the multiple blogger as 1 of 25. Maybe doodi can make a last 50 BLOG AUTHORS spot so that we can see the people who rarely post

I concur with blastchickbaby. I enjoy writing and sometimes getting a "rise" out of the community, but it is to generate thinking about things. Most of the time it's just my verbal vomit to cleanse my mind.(That really sounds gross) Don't worry about what the others think, its your blog, your thoughts. If you want to post a picture or video, go ahead. Again, it is an indication of your personality. Same goes with those who post videos or music or pictures all the time. Nothing wrong with it, that is what they value or like. It is theirs.

Umbee, I think you have already succeeded. I like Em's idea to highlight the least viewed/rarest bloggers. However, I think we need to be careful in not alienating our 202P friends who have a different take on it.
