Friendship

A lot of the people around me seem to be having a hard go at life right now. Several of the members of the site have expressed some personal crisis they are going through, all of which I wish and pray for the best. My son’s best friend’s parents are going through an ugly divorce, and the little boy is stuck in the middle. And the closest to me of all, my Sister-in-law and her husband are also in the process of ending a marriage. Those of you that read Agonizing Gas’ blog know that he is my brother-in-law, and is going through this life changing ordeal. I sure hate to sound selfish here, and I hope AG does not get upset with me for blogging about his issues, but I have become affected by this unfortunate happening. For one thing, AG brought me to this website, introduced me to Halo 2, and let me in his clan (Wheezing Geezers). I got to visit San Francisco and Oakland because of his marriage, and he was an outstanding host. He took me to Chicago and introduced me to a LAN party. We use to hang out just about every weekend, drink a bit of tequila, and play WoW or Halo together. I certainly could not have asked for a better brother-in-law, and I will always consider him a friend. Well, he is back in California now, and the weekend get-togethers have gone with him. We still manage to meet up every now and again to play WoW; in fact I really started to play again so I could continue to have regular gaming contact with him. Now to my point. All of you people out there, who are going through some similar event in your life, remember that those who can support and be there for you may be those you would not expect. I know in a lot of divorces the in-laws suddenly become the enemy. Don’t be so quick to judge. I hope AG and I can continue to have a friendship, regardless of where his or my lives travel. And AG, hang in there buddy, I am still a fan.
