Home tomorrow

I get to catch a plane at 8pm tomorrow night for LA.  I leave this beautiful stretch of earth for the dry hills of LA county.  I think I'll miss all the green up here, but being this long away from the family sucks monkey butt.  I'm ready to spend more than two nights in a row in my own bed.

I have really missed quite a bit when I start to think about it.

• The smell of the wifey's hair after a shower
• The sleepy look of my son's face on a school morning
• Seeing the sun go down in the Pacific
• Hearing the kids next door screaming as they chase bubbles
• Picking my boy up from school and watching him run across the playground to me
• Spending a day cleaning the house and the satisfied feeling of a job well done
• Getting clothes out of a drawer instead of a suitcase
• Dinner on my own dishes
• Going barefoot on my carpet
• Playing with my PC and finishing the 6+ signatures for site friends
• Listening to the wind in the huge eucalyptus in my backyard
• Hearing my dog daring the squirrels to come down out of the tree
• Knowing where I am when I first wake up
• Playing 360 with my son and watching him pwn some bad guys
• Stealing kisses from the wifey whenever I want
• Having the luxury of a full fridge, and not some stunted tease for a solitary quart of milk
• The smell of some kick ass carne asada on my grill
• Laughing at my boy making funny faces
• Not having to explain every George Lopez joke
• Being able to order my dinner in Spanish and not have 35 white people stare at me like a mutant
• Seeing the sun more than 15 minutes as I leave town
• Not wondering what old man just shit himself in my area of the plane, or if it was his wife
• The hope that the next trip will not take so much out of me.

I can't wait to get back on that cattle car.  I am sorely tempted to try and drink every ounce of beer and wine on that Freedom Bird.  I just don't want to deal with the hangover I'll have the next morning!
