News from the Front

Got a message from my guy at SpaceX as I got off the plane from Portland.  He was in Hawaii after taking what he called a "two day plane ride" from Micronesia and preparing to take another ride back here to LA.  He said he got my email and shot it out to his boss who is the money-guy and that he (my guy) would be calling me today.  Needless to say, I'm not straying far from my cell phone.  I guess I'll have to stay here and play my new copy of CRACKDOWN!!!!  w00t!!!

I bought it on Tuesday and did not get to play it all week, because I didn't want to take my 360.  New place, strange hotel, yaddayadda.  Now I find out that next week I'll be all over Oregon, and the following week they've got me running all the way to Spokane, WA.  Do I take my 360 and drag the SOB all over or just suffer sheer boredom without it?  Crap.  I know the travel case rocks (check a few blogs back if you want to see it) but it takes 20 minutes to unpack, pack up, etc. and I have to do this every time I leave the hotel room because I don't trust anyone.  It's a pain in the butt if you are changing hotels every other night.  If I were staying in one place, I'd just hang up the Do Not Disturb sign and be done with it.  No prying eyes, no light fingers.  No temptations.  Reminds me of Full Metal Jacket:

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Private Pyle, if there is one thing in this world that I hate, it is an unlocked footlocker! You know that don't you?

I don't want to be Private Pyle to Esmerelda the Cleaning Lady....
