Shared on Sun, 10/07/2007 - 05:13Was a blast! Holy shit, it's 2:30 in the morning on Sunday and Saturday has finally come to a close. What a fuckin' ride! :D
I went to bed last night at 4:30 in the morning. I couldn't sleep after my buddy's show. At 9am, I awake to the shrillest "Mommy-I've-been-run-over-by-a-lawnmower little girl scream ever heard by mortal ears, right outside my bedroom window. My adrenal glands go into fight or flight mode and when I figure out it's not my boy and no one is dying or maimed, I'm screwed for getting back to sleep. Hopy shit. Getting hit in the damn head with a hammer would have been preferable!
So I'm puttering around the house, getting ready to go to Bad Billy's to work on the Harley. I don't know why, but in a moment of weakness I called the ex. To my surprise, she answers the phone. She has read my blog and is making some revelations herself. One, she's addicted to it, wanting to know everything even when it hurts. Two, she still has not forgiven me. She said she has been praying for help to forgive me because she can't seem to do it on her own. We have the inverse on the communication, I lay it out and she keeps it close. She's a bit fascinated about where I'm at in my head. We talked for over an hour and it was good. There was some closure for me in that conversation. We talked more this morning than we have in a month and we are both moving on. It was good. Hell, it was great. A lot of pressure is gone for me now. I hope she finds it in her heart to forgive me and accept my apologies. I know what it is to hate, I know the burden of unreconciled pain. I still love her too much to wish that on her even if there is no hope for us to be together. I got off the phone feeling a crap-ton better. I hope she did, too.
I managed to get over and work on the bike while listening to the Red River Shootout on the radio. My Sooners handed Texas their ass and I can't be happier. Especially after my boys lost to frickin' Colorado last week! I got a battery, fork seals and some bitchin' drag bars for the bike and we got down to stripping the thing apart. My tank and fender came back from sandblast and primer, but the damn primer was gray! I wanted black, so I've got to get them painted. Got an artist buddy lined up to do the airbrush work I want, so I'm stylin' and profilin'.
So we fight the fuckin' forks off the bike, made tough because they were bent. Got them pulled off and had disassembled the first fork only to find out that the damn seals are for 39mm tubes and I've got smaller Showa forks. FUCK! Back to the parts store today, I guess. Did get it all cleaned and ready to be reassembled though. I even polished the sliders, like a good little Hog owner. Probably the last time that'll happen.... :D
So after spending 7 hours wrenching on the bike Bad Billy's wife made me stay for dinner. Homemade enchiladas and fresh salad- boy was I in heaven! I sure miss ~good~ home cooking.... :P
I split soon after because I had another show to go to- again, another friend's band. Went to Santa Monica and listened to a couple of groups and really had a good time. Saw some friends I haven't gotten to hang with in forever and really enjoy my ME time.
If you like loud rock and roll, metal for the masses, you gotta check these folks out:
http://www.myspace.com/caughtupband ~group that rocked the hell out of the place. Rise was a badass song live!
http://www.myspace.com/playhat ~my bro's band. SoCal Rootcore. If you're in SoCal, they're playing next weekend. Good shit! Time to get a babysitter!
So here I sit, having had a weekend full of adventure and daring. And I've still got tomorrow to go!
Where will the the sunrise find me? If only we knew....
Ain't nothin' to a G.
