Over Thanksgiving, my computer finally decided to compute its last. The mother(fucking)board fried and the PC had been haphazardly built six years ago, so it was obviously time for a new rig. For a few weeks, I couldn't decide whether I wanted to buy a pre-built rig or build one properly on my own - ultimately, building won, and so Project Frankenstein was born. I'm not cutting corners this time... I want my shit to last. So far I bought the CPU, Motherboard, Hard Drive, RAM, Video Card, and Power Supply (spending close to $800 so far). I forgot how expensive this shit was, but it will pay out in the end. I'm even planning to branch out to some PC gaming. Right now, when the loner PC is cooperating, I play some Torchlight II, Puzzle Quest, or Cthulu Saves The World. Once I have the rest of the parts, I'll try to remember to post some pics & specs from the build.
Work has been kinda fucked lately. They recently laid off 200+ people & closed an additional 50 positions, one of which, I was in the process of interviewing for. Once the position (Social Media) reopens, I'm putting every effort into getting it. My department (Machine Support) is fucked up. I've yet to prove it, but I'm convinced that one certain higher-up is the bastard lovechild of Adolf Hitler & Genghis Khan. In the meantime, I have my second job to be excited about. I'm officially the new Social Media Director for SprinklerHUT, a worldwide retailer of international sprinkler & irrigation supplies. One little fact I should mention, it's my aunt & uncle's company. So I'll have this going in my off-time, when I'm not Podcasting (which is going well, by the way).
So, the week of Christmas, I experienced a new first in my life - kidney stones. I'll spare the gory details, but will say that it fucking hurts. Once I passed three of those bastards, I went in for an Ultrasound. They checked me all over - heart, lungs, kidneys, bladder - and I think the Ultrasound Tech was a sadistic fuck, because he was too rough with the procedure. So, two weeks go by, and I get a call this past Wednesday. They found a cyst on my kidney. It's fine, though. This one is small enough that he's going to ignore it for the time being, which is fine with me... I don't need a bigass needle to the back. He gave me some harsher news as well. My heart muscles are enlarged & we're having trouble regulating my blood pressure. I need to start losing weight right away. I'd already started making some changes (like cutting down soda, quitting smoking), so I have that in my favor. To start, Doc has me exercising at least 15 minutes a day. As far as the "diet", I'm considering joining Weigh Watchers. I did that a few years ago, and it worked at the time. I only stopped because the group was at my work & they had to disband it for too few members. I'll start with the Online. I'm also soliciting any input or advice you guys may have to offer. I'm not ready to clock out yet. Fuck that!
Anyway, that's about it. A final note, a few of my friends coerced me into trying the online dating scene. There are two laides I'm currently talking to - one already proving to be superior to the other. Should something more develop, I will definitely let you guys now. On that note, it's 2:12am & I'm ready to fall asleep at the desk. Goodnight.

I know the job's got you swamped. Just ride through it. As for potential ladies, if the Force isn't strong with her, then I'm looking for love in Alderaan places.

I'm glad you're making some healthy lifestyle changes...I saw a deal today that the caramel coloring used in colas could be carcinogenic. I'm also trying to cut down my soda consumption, but my caffeine dependancy won't allow me to go cold turkey, so I have replaced sodas with coffee and Red Bull. Get healthy, get a woman, and live the good life...you deserve it, amigo.
