Shared on Tue, 03/02/2010 - 09:24As I recall, Battlefield:Bad Company came out about 7 or 8 months after COD:MW. By that time, I had been a level 55 (no prestige for me!) for about 5 months, had a 1.65 k/d and the game had gotten a little stale so I was ripe for a change. I LOVED BF:BC and couldn't understand why my clan at the time (other than a select few members) never embraced it. I played BF:BC for about 5 months until Left4Dead came out and haven't picked it up since.
I've been eagerly awaiting BF:BC2 which is released today and I look forward to spending a ton of time on it. It's been released a bit too soon for me as I am not quite tired of MW2 (just got to 70 the other day, again, no prestige for me!), but I'm on the BF FoF tag and I know I'll have plenty of people to play with.
One big problem with BF:BC2 as well as the downloadable BF:1943 and even the BF:BC2 demo is the lobby issues where your squad gets split and you end up on another squad or even on the other team. I don't believe this is a bug but it's a money saving feature for EA. Battlefield is server based, not p2p like MW2. EA spends big $$$ renting servers needed to handle the load of players so it is in their interest to get a group of people into a game ASAP. Got a server with 1 guy on a squad and 3 guys on another squad? The solution is to break up your squad, put you on the squad with 3 guys and put the rest of your squad on the team with 1 guy in the squad and start the game. It's annoying as hell and I hope it doesn't detract from the overall game......
