The PorkChopPlatoon Purge

Like IAmTheLiquor (ChiefBunnyScrat), meemoos,Wheeler and quite a few others, I too was a victim of The PCP Purge. The
PorkChopPlatoon Powers That Be finally got fed up with a small minority of members that had previously
started another COD clan (Article 15). For reasons only known to them they decided to drop the axe two
days before the 2 year clan anniversary (and a week or so before my 2 year PCP anniversary). Like
Bunny, I got a generic PM stating it was due to "inactivity". Yes my game time with PCP has been
non-existent recently. The arrival of L4D2 as well as life itself had severely curtailed my MW2 gaming
time. I think I have a total of 12 hours in MW2. Since it wasn't with PCP, I guess that was reason
enough to drop me, my frequent posting in the forums not-withstanding.

They can go ahead and hide behind their "Code of Conduct" which (among many other clauses like the
inactivity one Bunny has mentioned) states a member cannot be in two COD clans, a revision of which they
admit was not publically revealed until AFTER we formed ARXV. That's really not a surprise, the staff of
the PorkChopPlatoon has a history with selectively enforcing their "CoC". Personal attacks? No problem.
Racist language? No big deal.

I've disagreed with the direction of PCP for a long time now. I'm not one that thinks bigger is better,
I find a large clan is not conductive to building a consistent winning group which is what I was looking
for. The guys I spent a lot of time with playing COD4 as well as in Site Chat also felt the same way, were
not happy with the direction PCP was taking and that was a seed for forming Article 15. PCP became my
casual fun clan, I'd spend hours recording crazy clan night games and clan tournaments and uploading them to YouTube.
I loved participating in the forums and no one can dispute that I contributed quite a bit of useful information.
But when I wanted to play seriously, I'd hook up with the same group of guys I've played with for the
past year or so and they were the core that eventually made up ARXV.

IMO, there is a shitstorm brewing inside of PCP. Recently members have been asking about "competitive"
teams, obviously they want more organized team play, something that PCP has not been able to give them.
Many promises have been made that will probably turn out to be as empty as previous promises. Back when
we formed ARXV to be more competitive, an Overlord asked me why I didn't come to them to work out
something inside the clan, to form a competitive wing of PCP. I felt that with such a large clan, it
would be an impossible undertaking, too many feelings would be hurt. How do you determine who makes the
"comp" team? Tryouts? And if you do and they play among themselves all the time, won't that engender a
clique mentality? It was better to form a separate clan but the OLs saw that as a betrayal. They should
have seen that as a good thing, let the guys who want to be competitive also join ARXV and if they can't
cut it, they are still PCP and the resentment about not making it is directed to the ARXV guys not the
PCP staff.


On a personal note, I am an asshole to play with. I'm an emotional and take charge kind of guy, I'll
yell out orders and I'll bitch and moan about my (poor) play, but I don't take out my frustrations at my
teammates. Still, it can be tough to take and I know there are plenty of people out there that don't
like playing with me. Some people don't want to hear the bitching, some people don't want to be told what
to do. That's completely understandable. I'm grateful to my boys that put up with me and they don't
hesitate to keep me in line.

If anyone else wants a smaller tighter clan, to play like a real team and win, just look us up in Article
15 (but move fast, membership is limited!).
