Watch collection - the beginning

I had previously blogged about getting a new watch and said I'll blog about my watch collection. I'm up to 11 now and, well, here's the origin of my watch obsession.

As a wedding present from my wife, I received a gorgeous grey Seiko dress watch. It was very elegant and very sexy but I have no pictures to post, it was stolen 20 years ago :( . What is really frustrating is that I cannot find it on ebay or any vintage watch websites. I wish Seiko made available their previous years catalogs so I could identify the name/model. It would make searching for it a lot easier!

On our honeymoon we perused a number of shops and I became enthralled with a Tag Heuer dive watch. It was black and gold and looked absolutely striking. Having a bit of cash burning a hole in our pocket from the wedding gifts I really,really wanted it. My wife and I made a devil's bargain, If I let her get the emerald ring she was looking at, she'd let me get the watch. Although it is about 23 years old, it still runs great and she still wears that ring to this day. Win/Win!
