At the end of my first month of playing halo3 i was sucking ass with a .53 overall k/d. I realized that i need to do something different, and began searching for ways to improve. Joining bungie.net led me to alot of information on how the game is played. Weapon usage, general strategies, controller settings, map knowledge, tacticle jumping, and so much more was out there that i needed to learn.
My second month of playing was done offline to practice the stuff that i was reading about. Learning the maps was first. Knowing where the weapons spawn, how to move about the map, special jumps for each map, and where cover can be taken i did by myself in forge. Flying around as a monitor is much faster than walking, and gives you the advantage of a birds eye view. This also gave me the opportunity to change my controller settings from default to bumper jumper. This setting has had the biggest impact on my game out of everything i was doing. Playing the campaign, wich i had never done, during this time period was good practice for combat. Beating the game on legendary was quite the eye opener, as the game forces you to practice so many facets. Different weapons, equipment, and vehicles are set for each level of the campaign, and if you try to use something other than the appropriate weapons/vehicles, you will fail.
Returning to MatchMaking after the offline practice was awsome. There were a few days of adjusting to playing humans again, but not a big deal.
MORE SOON...
