Do you know where your pencil sharpener is?

My daughter loves to draw. ;; She is 3 years old and her pictures are just now turning into indentifible objects. ;; Faces have 2 eyes a nose and a mouth. ;; Their bodies have extremely long legs and arms (like Minoot Bohl). ;; ;; She actually drew an octopus the other day that I knew what it was without having to ask. ;; Can you tell I am a proud father?

Yesterday one of her coloring pencils had worn down to the point where you had to hold it at a 90 degree angle to even make a mark. ;; So I tell her that I will sharpen it for her. ;; Now I know we do not have a pencil sharpener, but being from the South I know how to whittle. ;; My daughter is so upset with me because she doesnt want me to do anything to her pencil. ;; I try to explain that this will make it better for her to use but she just keeps crying while I am using a knife to sharpen it. ;; I know eventually she will appreciate it.

So I tell my wife about it last night and she asks me why I did not use our pencil sharpener? ;; We have a pencil sharpener? ;; She says sure so I ask where it is, thinking it must be in one of the kitchen drawers. ;; She then proceeds to tell me it is in the closet of the guestroom (that we never use). ;; I cannot believe I did not look there. ;; Isnt it amazing that my ;;wife just assumed I would know that? ;; She then informed me, "you remember, the one with the monkeys head". ;; Are we talking about a pencil sharpener still or is there a monkeys head in that closet? ;; ;; ;;So I get my gun out and go look for it (could be monsters in that closet too). ;; People, I tell you the truth, my wife owns a pencil sharpener like the ones we used growing up in school except the trimmings catcher is a monkeys head and you insert the pencil in his mouth. ;; How could I not remember ;;such a treasure ;;and that we keep it in the closet? ;; Well, at least I know that my daughter will be better entertained the next time I have to sharpen her pencils.

By the way, right next to that monkey pencil sharpener I found Jimmy Hoffa.

UPDATE... My wife has informed me that it is not a monkeys head but a gorillas. ;; There is a difference you know.

Yes, please note that there is a DEFINITE difference between a monkee and a gorilla. I personally enjoy my GrimReaper-head pencil sharpener. It might not create the sharpest pencil in the drawer, but at least it cant talk at all while its sharpening my pencil. Sorry Grimmy, couldnt resist!

Lots of things lost in that room I bet LOL. At least she will be happy when you sharpedn her pencils now. Make sure to dispose of jimmy, he is probably pretty ripe after all that time in the closet.
