Shared on Fri, 08/25/2006 - 12:20One expression that confounds me, "Happy as a Lark". I mean, how do you know a Lark is happy? Did someone ask it how its day is going? Maybe its smile (if you can make one out) is painted on like a clown. How did we come up with this? And by the way, what is a Lark? Maybe it is a crack addict and if so, is that the type of happy we want to be associated with?
Good thing I am happy as a pig in mud. Now that is an expression I can understand. Who doesn't like mud?
