WOW, has it really been almost 6 weeks since I have posted a blog? After PAXEast wrapped up, my personal life kicked into high gear. As many of you may know, I will be getting married in the spring of 2012 and my fiance & I have been working on our plans for that event. We took a trip to Virginia Beach (where we met and will be married) in April and have most of the major details in place. It is nice to know that we will have everything planned way ahead of time. In addition to planning a wedding, I recently celebrated my fifth anniversary at my current job. Given the economy over the past few years, and the fact that I really like what I do and the company I work for, I consider myself very lucky to have such stability in my personal and professional lives. Finally, on top of everything else, we of course adopted a bouncing, incredibly adorable 2 year old 105lb Rottie rescue named Jackson. Given his background of abandonment (he was found in the woods of NC weighing only 67 lbs), we knew that it would be important to spend as much time as possible with Jackson to make sure that he adjusted well to his new home. Also, he was pretty much a wingnut when we got him and in dire need of some serious training and lots of affection, of course. Well, I am happy to say that, after a little over two months, Jackson is starting to settle down and get in the groove of living in New England. We walk him twice daily and go through at least 30 minutes of training as well. He still has a few rough edges, but is starting to mellow out. He even has a few steady playmates (my friend's two Shiba Inu's). Recently I took Jackson fishing with me at the pond near our house. He was very mellow and seemed uninterested in what I was doing. That is, until I caught something. Apparently, Jackson is not a big fan of the "Catch & Release" philosophy as you will see in the video below.

My fiance cannot stop laughing at this video. Anyway, I just wanted to swing by and let everyone know that I am not dead (yet) and doing well. I have been playing the Gears 3 Beta a bit online, so hopefully I will see some of you soon.

Cool vid. Next time tho you should get him as you pull the fish out and throw it back in. I need to take my dog fishing, i'd love to see what she'd think of fish flipping around on the line.
