The (DS) lite at the end of the tunnel

So, I had a bit of a dilemma.  As you regular readers know, my "extra" funds have recently been destroyed.  So, Im on track for a 360 early next year.  Now, interestingly, Im getting a $100 Mastercard giftcard at work for some extra work I did for marketing.  With that dough, and the little I have left in the 360 fund, Im going to buy a DS Lite and a few games.  Reaction from my clan was interesting.  Some felt I should not get a DS and should instead put the dough towards a 360 - even though I still couldnt get it until next year most likely.

With all the travel I do, a DS Lite just makes sense.  Gaming goodness on the road.  Plus, it will give me something fun to do on those really long conference calls.  But, in the tradition of all big companies, my gift card will arrive via mail "in 4-6 weeks."  1 week down.  Im hoping its more like 4 and less like 6.

I also have a small nibble on a better job at work.  Not holding my breath at all on it, but it would be more money.  That could help the 360 fund tremendously.  Fingers crossed.

Game on.....

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I will not have a DS nor a 360. :)

Good for you! I think getting a DS lite is the smart move. Good system and great games. Now you have to find out what your into. The better titles out right now are AC:ww if your into a Sim like scens or Metroid Prime Hunters. Its kinda hard on Single player And in September Final Fantasy III will be realeased and is going to really put the DS through its paces. Good luck G

I have a DS lite and two DS games (Brain Age and the New Super Mario Bros.), and it is the best gaming investment Ive made since my 360. ;) I love it and play it daily. Plus, I have some GBA games (original Zelda, original Super Mario Bros., etc.) so its a great bonus to have the ability to play both DS and GBA games. Im sure youll be pleased with your purchase. Ag
