Shared on Mon, 12/04/2006 - 21:55tried to concentrate on a video game with an 18 month old and an almost three year old in the same room? It's a constant battle of keeping them interested in what they are doing as well trying to keep focused on what you are doing. It doesn't help that with the Wii you are doing lots of swinging and gyrating with shiny new looking things. And then of course is the way they sneak up on you just as you start your backswing on a par 5!!
Now I know it may appear that I am being a selfish, and maybe I am a little bit, but damn-it I obsessed about getting this stupid console for two weeks before finally getting up at ungodly hour of the morning on Sunday and braving -2 degree actual and -20 degree wind chill temperatures for half an hour!!! In the old days I would have played it for 12 hours straight as soon as I brought it home!!
Them days is gone and they ain't a coming back real soon. So I have got to figure out a way to get some game time as well as keep the kiddo's happy. BTW My Wife attempted to get the 3 yo involved in the game without her actually playing...yeah, that didn't work so good. Who knew that 3 yo could be both that smart and stubborn at the same time! I 'spose it's my fault. I HAD to choose a smart Wife.
As of now the only solution that I can come up with is to try and play after the kids go to sleep. Of course that means that I don't and I am getting the classic baggy eyes and look like Hell....well I look more like Hell in the morning. Stupid work. In college I could blow off classes, work for some reason...not so much.
Having kids adds an entire new difficulty rating to games...not to mention life.
