Shared on Fri, 09/01/2006 - 05:43Last night was the first time that I had gamed with my clan in ages. I've pretty much stopped playing Halo 2 after almost a solid year and a half of playing it, and was waiting for another game that a majority of my clan would be in to.
Enter Saints Row. Doodi put together a 2o2p gang, and about a half dozen of us met up for some pimp protectin, ride pimpin, gangsta brawlin' fun. What a blast! The pregame lobby is probably the best I've ever seen! While waiting for a match to start, you can run around this old warehouse (which actually serves as the lobby), pick up weapons, and have a mini FFA game while waiting for the actual match to start. It's quite unlike anything I have ever seen. DS and I while waiting for Doodi (apparently he was in the middle of selling his kegerator, which must violate a man law somewhere) ran around the pregame lobby blastin caps at each other for a good half hour, and it never got old.
So far my faviorite match type besides gangsta brawl (slayer match) has been pimp my ride. You have to work as a team to collect chains and medallions, turn them into cash, and use the cash to upgrade your ride. The first team to successfully do this four times is the winner.
Work has been so-so.
I'm off today and hopefully next Thursday and Friday. On Tuesday I think I'm going to have to lay down the ban-hammer and fire someone for the first time. This employee lied on their application -the question that asks if you've ever been convicted of a crime. Turns out this person has a larceny charge against them. I'm tellin' ya, you can never be too sure of people anymore. This particular employee is a 22 year-old pregnant gal! When I saw the results of the background check, I couldn't believe my eyes! On top of this, my office is due for their annual Bio Hazard Waste inspection with the Dept. of Health. This can get a little stressing as not only can they decide not to grant you a new permit for the following year, the DOH can also fine you if your plan is not up to code. Wheeeeeeee.
To top it all off, after 35 years of fantastic sight, I've come to realize I need glasses. Everything that was far away was getting blurry...so much in fact that I was missing road signs and so on. Sooo, I had the peeps inspected and picked up my new glasses yesterday. HOLY SHIT! I had no idea how bad my eyes were until I put my glasses on! It was like seeing in Hi-Def! It's crazy how accustomed one can get to seeing or hearing at a certain level.
Well that's about it on this end. I'm off today, the wife is at work, and there isn't a 'honey-do' list in site. Game on!
