Had a questionable day at work. We have a new person on the management team who is out to "fix all the problems" we are having. That's fantastic, however by setting new processes in place to fix the problems, she's created several bottlenecks where work is getting hung up. Now, my boss is asking me why some of my subordinates work is getting behind. She wants me to job shadow with her and see if I can diagnose what the issue is. I suspect it may be an organizational issue to some extend on my employee's part, but I would bet the ranch that 90% of the problems is with the new manager and her processes. There have been grumblings from a few employees that answer directly to this new manager, that she is causing more work as opposed to streamlining the work flow. Now my boss, the administrator will not listen to anyone talk of these issues, as she calls it whining, "Oh the Care Managers are whining again". She thinks that all the ideas and steps the new manager has put into place are going to work wonderfully. Evidence to the contrary is already starting to manifest with the work backing up. My friend and I have a bet to see how long it's going to be before this all implodes, and my boss calls an everyone meeting to figure out to fix the problems.
Oh well, I try to leave that shit at the door when I go home, but it's had sometimes.
My wife did an incredible thing for me a couple Sundays ago, and no you dirty bastards we're not talking about that! :^)
The company where she works purchased tickets to see the Bucs play the Redskins in Tampa a couple weeks back. The trip started as employees only, however a few cancelled and this left a few open tickets. Unbeknownst to me, My wife had been working all week on getting one of those tickets. On the Saturday before the game, my wife is on the phone laughing and sounding extremely happy. So I ask her what is going on and she says:
"You better get some sleep tonight, we got a big day tomorrow".
Me: "what are you taking about"?
Her: "We're going to see the Bucs play tomorrow, and go to a private tail gate party that is severing free food and beer"!
Me: THUD (Jaw hitting floor).
I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to some, but going to a professional NFL game is something I've never done, but always wanted to. Plus the Bucs actually one that day. What a great time! Sometimes I forget how blessed I am to have such an amazing woman as a wife! We should all take time out once in awhile to show and express our appreciation to them for all they put up with.
Just got done beating FEAR, and Gears of War on Hardcore. Both games have been equally fun. Gears Multiplayer seems to be more of an intimate visceral experience, while FEAR'S MP is straight up run and gun with some cool weapons and a "kill the dude with the slo mo" variant.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance is also a great game and insanely fun with four player co-op. It's a pretty brainless beat'em up, but the nice selection of characters coupled with some solid player leveling make this game addictive and a solid party game when you have a bunch of friends over that all want to play at the same time.
Here's a good question to end this entry with:
What constitutes a keeper for a game? Why do some stay in your library while others are trade in fodder?
