Negative ratings

I can't for the life of me figure out why people get so bent out of shape when their blog gets a negative rating.  Really, do people think that all 11,000+ people on this site are going to agree with every post you place?   

My blog has been voted down on more than one occasion, do I take it as a personal attack?  No.  Apparently someone didn't agree with my views, or maybe they thought my entry was boring, and voted it down due to the reader thinking I wasted their 10 minutes it took to read my post.  That's OK! .  Will I continue to post what I want on my blog?  Absolutely!  Do I care that some people may not fancy what I've written?  Heck no.   This is america and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I blog to share with the site a little bit about myself.  I don't do it to have my ego stroked, I don't do it to try to surpass Soup's blog, I don't do it to become a popular member of the site.  If you want to read my stuff fine, it's there.  If you don't agree with what I've written, then by all means vote it down.  No big whoop. 

People need to drink some prune juice and let that shit go.  If people are so concerned with the fact that not everyone is going to go gaa-gaa over every entry they make, then maybe people need to re-evaluate what they are trying to accomplish with blogging in the first place.
