If you've played the original PC version of Battlefield 1942, this is just an improvement on the original. If you've played a Battlefield game, you know the basic layout. There are 3 classes to choose from: Rifleman, Assault, and Sniper. Each have their own unique load outs ( weapons & gear ). I still haven't figured out how to use them all, so I won't comment on them. And of course vehicles are available for both sides; cars, tanks, planes, and boats. Check out Battlefield1943.com for more info.
The only game mode is Territories. You basically, fight for control of key locations. Possesion of a location/territory causes the other team to loose tickets. The team with zero tickets loses. You can lose tickets by loosing control of key locations or with every death of a team member.
The game comes with three maps: Wake Island (my favorite), Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal, but recently, after 43 million kills were made in the game, a forth map was unlocked for free, Coral Sea.
When I first tried out the demo, finding a match was difficult. But lately that issue seems to have been resolved.
The best part of the game is that it uses the Frostbite engine from Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield: Bad Company, so you can destroy a lot of things in the battlefield. Need a door to enter a house, no problem, just blow a hole in the wall and walk right in.
BTW, Private Matches are now available. So you can set one up and have some fun with 23 other friends. You can also party up with your friends through the games menu, and fight along side each other in a ranked match.
Also just bought Worms 2: Armageddon on XBL. Had a lot of fun playing the original on the PC, so I just had to try it on X360. The demo made it seem like fun so I've bought it. I hope to see others online playing it. This game is super, goofy fun, that the whole family can enjoy. Download the demo and find out for yourself.
