My First Client

Yesterday I had a client scheduled for 5pm at her coffee shop, but when I got there at 4:45pm her boyfriend said she'd be there soon.  He also told me that they don't close until 5:30pm, which I didn't know or I wouldn't have suggested a 5pm massage.  I waited 'till she got to the shop and told her that we could wait 'till 5:30 so we won't have to worry about her customers not being able to get to the bathroom area.  While we waited I set up the table and had a coffee (free mocha, hell yeah I'll take it).  Just before 5:30 her last customer left and they locked up.  I finished setting up the table and dressing it by 5:30 and told my client to do the normal bla bla bla and lay face down on the table.  When I got in the room she was face up of course, it never fails lol.  She flipped over and we got started.  The normal time is 1 hour but the room we were in had no clock and I don't wear a watch when I'm working so I just had to guess the time.  My client is a marathon runner and she runs 8 miles a day, she just changed her running style so she has a lot of new muscles hurting her.  Most of my time was spent working on the legs and back, I even made a special massage oil for sore muscles just for her.  When we were done she thanked me over and over again and she scheduled her next massage right then.  She now wants one every two weeks and said if she could afford it she'd do it every week.  I gave her the first massage for free, and she gave me a tip of a $20 gift card to the coffee shop.  Which I spent most of it today on coffee and lunch for me and my daughter lol.

When we went in the coffee shop I asked how her legs were feeling and she said last night they felt great 'till she ran 3 more miles.  OMG! I told her next time we need to do the massage on her running day off, duh!  She bragged about me to her whole family and to her customers that came in, good for me lol.

When I told her I might be leaving the state she was begging me to stay, that made me feel good .  She wants me to leave business cards with her to hand out, and I will if I stay here.  This isn't the place I want to be and it's not good for business because there are 5 other massage therapists in town.

Room for five, room for six. Do it better and it doesn't matter how many others are doing it.

The reason there isn't room for so many therapist is because we only have about 2,000 people living in this town lol. Peraly-idk, thinking about Washington State or Utah
