I'm not typically one to opine publicly about these kinds of things, but with the current fawning of the press to anything that is left of political center, someone has to come out and say it. This guy is an idiot.

If the socialist economies are so wonderful, why isn't Cuba a financial powerhouse today? What happened to the Soviet Union? Turns out those systems failed a lot earlier than anything remotely Keynesian. I hope this guy gets hit with a significantly sized 'cluestick' before he mucks things up too much.

WTF...You blog? Pussy :) Keep in mind the guy is an Aussie. They should have to blow in a breathalizer before they write anything. That said, the USSR was a complete success. Just ask them.

I thought Cuba was a Communist dictatorship, not socialist. I think you should point more towards economies like Canada, Australia, Great Brittain, etc. as the great Socialist enemies....Economies who do pump out their share of Billionaires by the way. Anyways, I think we can stand to swing a ways to the left and still be considered firmly Capitalist. All is not lost. :)
