Always Remember

I had really hoped that my list would be unnecessary this year, or at least much shorter than it was last year - alas, this was not to be. In fact, the list is more than double the size it was last year. This suprised me at first, and then made me a little angry. It appears to me that with the economy in the dumper and oil leaking in the Gulf that our focus (and that of the Press) has been shifted and we've lost sight of the fact that our country is still at war and that brave soldiers, sailors and marines are still dying on foreign soil fighting for our freedoms and those of others as well. So please take a few moments tomorrow to reflect on, and maybe even discuss with your children if you have any, the price of Liberty. Remember those that have fallen and continue to fall so that we may have the freedoms that we enjoy each and every day.

As in previous years, these are the members of the US armed services that have died while in service to their country from my home state of Ohio in the last year. Clicking on the link will take you to the "Faces of the Fallen" page for that servicemember maintained by the Washington Post.
