I had a refreshingly good morning, thanks to a power outage! For the first time in my life, I ENJOYED not having electricity or intertoobs. It was an unusually cool morning, so I opened all the windows. The cats were in heaven, getting to sniff the great outdoors. I listened to the birds, and read the newest Garden & Gun magazine, while sipping sweet tea. For once, the neighborhood was quiet! No one chain sawing trees, breaking up poorly poured pool concrete, or any of the other usual noise. It was breezy and comfortable. It was LOVELY. I didn't even jump up three hours later when the power came back on! I didn't jump up until it got to about 79 degrees and I required a/c again.
Does this mean I'm a grown up now?? I know it means two things: I wish I lived somewhere cooler, and I wish I lived in the country again.
As for the health update, I'm doing fairly well after these last rounds of chemo! It was rough going for a few weeks, with vicious side effects. But once they subsided, I felt the chemo working already! The gland in my jaw went back to normal size, and quit hurting. My knees stopped hurting. My hands are working a bit better. I can sleep. And I have an appetite! I actually GAINED a pound!! Woohoo!!
Now all I have to do is get my strength back, and I'm good for a few months. :D
