Jump the Shark

I ordered a game from Hong Kong today.  This kind of takes me to a new level of nerd-dom.  I ordered "Demon's Souls" from PlayAsia, which comes in Japanese, Korean and Chinese/English varieties.

I got a copy of the latter.  It is theoretically Diablo II + Oblivion + King's Field.  I wasn't sure if I should get it, but all PS3 games are region free and the game may never come to the US.  After the week I have had, I just couldn't help myself.

It should be challenging, probably more than I would like, but we'll see how far I can get.  The clock for delivery starts today.

I hope you can handle this.  Make sure you use the plastic mat, the controls look damn complex.

Okami - End Game

Well, wrapped it up at 50 hours, plus a few minutes.  Killed 666 demons, I kid you not.  Overall a great game.  I could have done without the third act, to be honest.  I liked a lot of the elements a great deal and they worked together well, but could have done with more explanation of the weapons.  The "stomach" fill-up was  a complete waste, for me.  Once I got the rapid ink-refiller and mat to lie on to restore health, it was simply a matter of time to get past traps and bosses.  I don't think I will ever catch that marlin, though.

PC Resurrection

Oh, NewEgg, how do we love thee.

Let me count the ways.

From a disemboweled corpse,

Back to life

Filled with life, once again.

Now to install Mass Effect...

PC Failure - Part II

Well, probably not going to get the old boy fixed easily.  Tech friend has ruled out software, hard drive and memory, which leaves the CPU and MoBo.

Guess I'm going shopping.  Those i7 920s look pretty sleek...

Okami

Playing through the title Okami on my PS3.  My four year-old likes to watch and offer advice.  The two year-old likes feeding the animals.  It is a Zelda-like platform adventure game with RPG elements - powering up weapons and such.  There are a lot of "side" items to find.   Like 100 stray beads?!?
