Podcasting

I know Dsmooth's mentioned it already, but I'm here to back him up. He's petitioned to start the podcast again, I wanted to be a firm supporter of his efforts, because I think podcasting is a great way to build a community.

Saw Sully Erna In Solo Concert

Last night, for fathers day, I got to go to Sully Erna's solo concert. Sully is the frontman for Godsmack, the show was similar to a "Story Tellers" format, where he explains the nature of his songs, urges people to really listen to music at a deeper level then just the song and talks about his life and how he got where he is today. He played a couple piano songs, paying tribute to Aerosmith in "Dream On" and Hey Jude from the Beatles.

Kung Fu Panda

The family and I went to see Kung Fu Panda last night. The last movie we saw was Horton Hears a Who, which was a very well done movie with plenty of funny stuff and humor that goes over a kids head (which means everyone gets a laugh at points in the movie).

Made It Back to the States

Although London was cool, being home is even cooler...well, actually, it's warmer. I didn't think you could get more chilly this time of year than New England, apparently Old England is--it was 60 or so degrees in the city when I was there, maybe a bit colder (hard to tell since everything measures in C and I'm not very good at Celsius).

If you go to England make sure you're aware of the exchange rate, it can be easy to be like "oh, it's only 5.99" but it's really $12 USD. :-)

UK Photos

Some photos of my stay in london thus far are below. Also tripped over the filming of Last Chance Harvey while walking the River Thames.

Tower Bridge

Some weapons in the London Tower

A moat around the tower, once filled with water and human waste ("sewer system"), now fertile grass land :)

You're Approved, Next

Well I managed to squeak into the UK without any issue. Apparently they allow anyone to immigrate into their country :-) Got my passport stamped after answering some tough questions (what are you doing here, how long you staying). It's a bit odd being in this direction of the timezone, normally if I'm anywhere it's California and my Honeymoon was in Hawaii back in 2001, but being at GMT+0 is a bitch.
